Well, we've had an interesting week to say the least. We made several unexpected trips to Salt Lake. Eli broke his arm on the 10th. Since it was Saturday, we had to go to the emergency room in Price. They confirmed that his arm was broken (which the story as to how he broke it is a whole other story), but it was such a severe break he needed to go to a specialist at the University of Utah hospital. His right arm was shattered in 4 places with severe damage to the nerves. The operation didn't take long, once they finally got to it (on Monday), but they put in a plate, 6 pins and 2 screws. It's kind of thrown a kink in things around here, but Eli is finding things to do with his left hand.
On a bright note, Eli was able to see his old roommate Dave while he was in the hospital. Dave and his girlfriend Julia met me in Springville to take Eli to Salt Lake. Later on that evening, Julia became Dave's fiancée, so it was fun to be able to meet her. Their first date was at the U of U hospital, so going there again together gave Dave the motivation to pop the question (later on that evening, not at the hospital). Eli had a soft splint on for 3 days, and now he just keeps it wrapped in ace bandage. He won't need a hard cast, which is good. He will be able to write, but that is it, until it heals in about 5 weeks. Anyone that knows Eli, knows that he goes crazy sitting around, so it should be an interesting 5 weeks.

Ouch !!! That makes my arm hurt just looking at it. I hope Eli is feeling better. I'm sure the worst part for him is not being as active as he is used to.a
