Oh Deer!

We made it back from Kansas in one piece; our car didn't. About 5 minutes from Eli's parent's house (on the way home), we hit a deer. It was pretty traumatic for Sydney. Claire did okay because anytime that Sydney is crying or upset, she is super happy; kind of funny how that works.
So our suburban is in Kansas, waiting to either be totaled or fixed. We got a rental car and came home.

If our car gets fixed, or if we get a new one, one of the first purchases we will make is one of these:
This definitely would have saved our car.

The whole ordeal could have been much, much worse. We didn't hit any other cars (it was either the deer or another car), no one got hurt, we were right by Eli's parent's house, Eli's mom had just left for work so she was close by, Eli's uncle passed us right as we were passing and turned around to help us, we have full coverage on our car, and we were still able to make it home when we had planned. So we're not happy about the busted up car, but we are happy with the many tender mercies.

I'm glad you guys are okay. Poor Sydney. I can imagine that would've been traumatic.

Bummer! I'm sure they will be able to fix it, my whole frame was bent and they fixed it! Hopefully everything will work out. Glad you're safe.
